Eric Olsen

Director

Eric Olsen is a Director of Family Office Services at GROCO, where he works on the Legacy Builders services. He is a seasoned strategic operations leader who excels in spearheading business development, and nurturing relationships.

Through past experience Eric has overseen operations at BrainCheck, a SaMD startup, where he grew the team substantially, secured a substantial Series B funding, and advanced new product lines. Previously, he made significant contributions to Hartford HealthCare, including managing a digital health accelerator, and overseeing the integration plan of a $600mm facility into the system.

Eric holds a Master's from the University of Michigan, enjoys wood-fired pizza making, and spending time with his wife and four children.

Alan Brown

Executive Advisor

Alan R. Brown began his career in the entertainment industry over forty years ago. After attending Seattle University, he started as a production assistant at T.V.C. Studios in New York before joining Osprey Productions. During his time at Osprey, Alan contributed to two Emmy-winning productions and several Gold, Silver, and Bronze Cine Eagle Award-winning documentaries. Under the guidance of his mentor, Craig Fisher, President of the Writers Guild of America East, Alan rose to Senior Vice President of Productions.

In 1986, Alan transitioned to Joseph E. Levine Presents as a story editor and, following Levine's passing, became President of Production. In this role, he supervised the production of feature films, handled debt structuring, and managed worldwide rights sales, including for titles like A Bridge Too Far. By 1990, Alan was the executive producer of Year of the Comet for Columbia Pictures, followed by Sea Kings for Universal Studios, both written by William Goldman. He was also slated to produce Pat Conroy’s Beach Music for Paramount Pictures, successfully negotiating Hollywood's first major agent-less deal.

In addition to his entertainment career, Alan has served as an advisor to multiple organizations. From 2021 to 2023, he was Vice Chairman of the Government Advisory Board at Veritone, Inc. (NASDAQ: VERI). Currently, he is a Senior Partner at Brown & Zhang Business Consulting, LLC, and also serves as a Senior Advisor to groco.com, Cambridge Wilkinson Investment Bank, and FMW Media Works. His responsibilities in these roles include providing strategic guidance, business consulting, and financial structuring.

Alan has lectured on screenwriting, novel writing, and film finance at events such as the Unicorn Writers’ Conference and the University of South Carolina’s Low Country Writers’ Conference. He continues to work as a story editor for both novels and screenplays, leveraging his decades of experience in the entertainment industry.

Andrew Olsen

Conference Director

Andrew Olsen is the conference director for the Legacy Builders conferences. He also serves as a Legacy Manager at GROCO, specializing in assisting high net worth family offices in cultivating their legacy plans through the innovative Legacy Builders initiative.

Prior to his current position, Andrew served as the program director at Sunflower Academy, an entrepreneurial bootcamp for early stage companies as well as the marketing director for metaverse infrastructure tech company, SunVia.

 

As a best-selling author, his first book "My Path" has inspired numerous readers. Andrew, an entrepreneur at heart has started three companies and has served in key roles at several startups. 

He has a BA in Business Management and Leadership from Southern Virginia University and is an MBA candidate at the University of Utah.

Since 2011, Alan has lent his expertise to the American Dreams podcast, having the honor of interviewing over 2,000 notable figures, including top CEOs, venture capitalists, tech gurus, and thought leaders. These industry trailblazers share their life journey and insights on what catalyzed their individual successes.

Alan's latest venture is Legacy Builders, where he is fostering a community for Family Offices and ultra-high net worth individuals. This platform allows members to collaborate on philanthropic missions and causes that resonate with them. 

Beyond his professional pursuits, Alan is a family man who cherishes quality time with his 7 children and 23 grandchildren. He's an avid Golden State Warriors fan who relishes the thrill of the game, and a passionate fly fisher who finds tranquility in the backcountry of Wyoming and his home state, Montana.

Alan earned a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University and an MBA from California State University, East Bay.
